Children’s Cots

Consumer and Business Services officers have recently visited around 90 South Australian businesses selling children's household and portable cots, where officers inspected both new and second hand cots.

Accidents involving children's cots have resulted in serious injuries and deaths. The majority of these injuries/deaths are a result of children falling from the cot, however limb/head entrapment, suffocation and snagging of clothing are also contributing factors.

Childrens household and folding cots, new, second hand and available for hire, must meet the mandatory safety standards.
