Regulated goods

Compliance with consumer product safety and information standards is mandatory. This means that all suppliers of goods including manufacturers, distributors, importers and retailers must ensure their goods comply with the mandatory requirements. Consumers also have a responsibility to purchase safe products and to use them in a safe manner.

Some of the mandatory safety standards apply in South Australia only, as listed immediately below. In other cases, South Australia has adopted the national standard.
