OCBA - Business name

If you are carrying on business under a name other than your own real name (without addition). If you advertise using a business name it is taken that you are carrying on business under that name therefore you must register that name.

Under the Security and Investigation Agents Act 1995, you must not carry on business as a security and investigation agent under any name except the agent's authorised name. The authorised name means either the name of the security and investigation agent as it appears in the licence, or a business name registered by the security and investigation agent under the Business Names Act 1996. The Commissioner must also be advised in writing of your business name before you commence business.
