Licensing

Business and Occupational Services is responsible for licensing various occupations and tradespersons on behalf of the Commissioner for Consumer Affairs. We take an active role within South Australia in distributing information, encouraging industry co-regulation and educating its customers on general licensing issues.

If you wish to search for a licensed tradesperson in your area or if you want to check if a particular person or company is licensed in South Australia, then you can do that on the Licensing Public Register

A Licence Recognition website has been created where licensed/registered builders, plumbers, gas fitters, electricians and refrigeration and air conditioning mechanics, who are intending to work in another State or Territory, can identify the licence/registration they are entitled to hold in that other State or Territory pursuant to the Mutual Recognition Act 1992.
