The Statutes Amendment (Real Estate Industry Reform) Act 2007 comes into operation on 28 July 2008. The Act is designed to increase the transparency and accountability of agents and generally to increase the level of consumer protection. For further information click here.
Consumer Credit Code changesConsumers will benefit from new protections proposed to the Consumer Credit Code (the Code), introduced into the Queensland Parliament. Changes regarding sale of goods or land by instalments will be brought within the scope of the Code and will be adopted nationally. For more information click here.
