It is presumed that, prior to reading this information, you have determined that a non-trading co-operative structure will suit your needs. You should also have decided whether or not the proposed co-operative will have a share capital.

It should be noted that, pursuant to section 15 of the Act, a non-trading co-operative must not give returns or distributions on surplus or share capital to members other than the nominal value of shares (if any) on winding up.
