Lodging a complaint

Lodging a Complaint with Consumer and Business Services (CBS)

Please note: We can only assist with complaints where the consumer resides in South Australia - for those residing outside South Australia please refer to your local consumer/business affairs agency in the first instance.

CBS encourages consumers to assert their own rights when it comes to fair trading issues That's why before you lodge a complaint with us you need to demonstrate that you have discussed your problem with the trader and that you have written to the trader to try to resolve the dispute. Sample complaint letters can be found on this website by clicking here.

For people who may be vulnerable or disadvantaged special assistance can be arranged to ensure all consumers can access our services in a fair and equitable way.

To discuss your complaint please telephone one of our Consumer Affairs Officers on 131 882.

If we can help, we will send you a 'Request for Assistance' form which should be completed and returned to our office along with copies of the relevant documents (ie receipts and contracts).
