A proposed new business name is tested against all current Australian company and South Australian registered business names and Associations. South Australia applies a subjective name determination test. We cannot register a name which is similar to previously registered names.
Generic, poorly defined or descriptive names are difficult to register as are unqualified initials. Click on the link below to view Names which require Ministerial Consent.
