Compliance and enforcement

Consumer protection and compliance with relevant laws are pivotal components of the Office of Consumer and Business Affairs' current work plan. A range of activities and approaches are used to ensure compliance with legislated standards and a set of priority guidelines are used to balance resource utilisation and maximise effectiveness in this area. OCBA officers use discretion and common sense in choosing a course of action appropriate to particular conduct. Any action will be based on the objective facts and circumstances of the matter.
